We created this website to raise awareness and build interest in our choir. Cantairí Chonamara is a mixed-voiced choir with members from all over Connemara that has sung together since it was founded in 1999. We sing at:

Sponsor the ChoirHaving a vibrant local choir adds to the culture of arts in the community in Connemara. To become a sponsor of Cantairí Chonamara, please contact Committee Chair: Marie Noelle Biddulph 087 9611267. Invite the choir to sing at your next event. Its repertoire is broad with something to suit all occasions. Your sponsorship would contribute towards choir expenses such as hiring accompanists, accompanying musical instruments, soloists and bus transport to and from events. (Ticket sales and membership subscriptions alone do not cover these expenses.) Your sponsorship would be acknowledged at all public events and in choir promotional literature.

![]() Clifden 2012 Celebrations See the News section for an article about the 'Lighting the Way Forward' start to the Clifden 2012 celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the town's founding (see more at clifden2012.org). The choir contributed to this event by singing carols at the Square and was well-received by the festive audience. Cantairí Chonamara hopes to participate in further events during the year. Clifden Arts Festival 2011: On Sunday September 18th 2011 Cantairí Chonamara performed a concert at Christchurch, Clifden as part of the 34th annual Clifden Arts Festival. Musical Director Peter Godaniburg became the Musical Director of Cantairí Chonamara in early 2010. Originally from Germany, Peter has lived for many years in Westport. He has wide ranging experience in conducting choirs and contributes to the musical development of the choir bringing its performances to new heights.
